A profile of our own.
Custom extrusion lets us make choices about the bead, spoke bed and overall shape.

Introducing the Coven AL Rim: Our debut into the world of mountain bike wheels. Most brands are satisfied with simply slapping their logo onto an open mold rim and calling it good. We know that’s not enough and set out to design a rim that would outperform our competition.

Coven AL Rim
Building your own wheels? Start with the part that meets the trail. The Coven AL rim brings our custom extrusion, asymmetric profile and welded construction to the build you have in mind.

Why this one
Custom extrusion lets us make choices about the bead, spoke bed and overall shape.
An asymmetric profile and 4D drilling are part of the foundation for your wheel builder’s work.
Onyx or Silver, with a finish that leaves room to make the completed bike your own.
A closer look

The Coven’s spoke bed sits 3 mm off-center. That asymmetric shape helps balance spoke tension between the two sides of a wheel, where the hub’s flange positions produce different bracing angles. The offset is part of the design your wheel builder works with, not just a measurement on the drawing.
Correct rim orientation still matters. Have your builder account for the offset and your specific hub when planning the wheel, rather than treating the Coven like a symmetric rim.

The cross-section shows the choices behind the Coven: a broad hookless bead, a substantial spoke bed and a shallow, 20 mm-tall profile. The bead and spoke bed are key load-bearing areas, while the overall shape was developed with vertical compliance in mind.
Our custom extrusion is made from 6069-T6 aluminum and joined with a welded seam. With a 30 mm internal width, it’s a starting point for a mountain bike wheel build. Check tire compatibility and setup requirements for the tire you plan to use.

Alloy rims deserve a good finish, too. We polish and mask the Coven before the final media blasting, leaving polished logo areas against the surrounding textured surface. That contrast is part of the rim itself, so the stock finish looks complete without needing a decal to do the work.
Those logo areas also give you a place to make the wheels your own. Custom decals can add color over the Tenet graphics to tie the rims into your frame or the rest of your build, without covering the entire rim.
For application, start with a clean, dry surface, check the decal alignment before pressing it down, and follow your decal supplier’s preparation and application instructions. If you need help checking the fit of a decal, ask us before ordering.

We built the Coven to be ridden, and we’ll back it up when things go wrong. Our lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects for the original purchaser, with additional coverage for rims damaged under normal riding conditions.
A dent that stops the rim holding air, a cracked bead, a separated seam or a crack at a spoke hole falls under our rim warranty. A dented rim that still holds air falls under crash replacement instead.
Warranty rim replacements carry a $30 flat-rate shipping fee; any service or shop fees are the rider’s responsibility. Read the full coverage details and submit a claim through the link below. If you’re unsure where your damage fits, get in touch and we’ll help.

Have hubs picked out and a wheel build taking shape? Our wheel builder calculator lets you work through rim, hub, spoke and nipple selections, then calculate spoke lengths for your setup.
Use the dimensions for your actual parts and review the results with your wheel builder before ordering spokes. The calculator is a planning tool, and the finished build still depends on accurate measurements and careful assembly. If something doesn’t add up, we’re here to help.
